Gradient overlay

  • 3 Cups dates, pitted.
• 2 Cups water
• 1 Cup whole wheat flour
• 1 Cup Quaker Instant / Quick Cooking Oats
• 1 tsp. Cardamom 
• 1.5 tsps. Cinnamon
• ½ tsp. Saffron
• 2 Tbsps. Mixed nuts for decoration


Cooking Instructions

• Add water and pitted dates to a pot on medium heat for 20 min.
• After the 20 min the dates should be soft and semi-blended with water. 
• Strain the mixture to have a smooth date-syrup with no hard skin or lumps, add saffron and set aside.
• On a non-stick skillet pan add the oats and the flour and keep stirring until golden-brown.
• Add spices to the flour-oat mixture.
• Sift the flour mixture into the date mixture and keep stirring until well mixed.
• Serve warm with nuts on top.
