Prepared with Quaker Oats


  • 1 cup Quaker White Oats
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 500 gram lamb, cubes
  • 7 cups water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 dried lemons
  • 5 cloves
  • 5 cardamoms
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup jeresh, soaked and drained- Can be grind
  • Garnish: (Kashna)

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • ½ teaspoon dried lemon, ground
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spices


  1. Heat oil in a pan over a med-high heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, stir for 2 minutes or until translucent.
  3. Add meat and stir till browned from all sides.
  4. Pour water; season with cinnamon sticks, dried lemons, cloves, cardamom, salt and pepper bring to a boil.
  5. Add jeresh, Reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes or more until meat is tender and jeresh is cooked.
  6. Add Quaker oats, mix till well combined, cook for 5 minutes (add water whenever required till cooked).
  7. Serve Quaker oat jeresh warm and garnish with kashna.
  8. For Kashna :

  9. Fry onion with ghee in a pan over a medium high heat.
  10. Add mixed spices and stir till well combined, remove from heat.
  11. Meat can be served on the side with the kashna.
