Prepared with Quaker Oats


  • ¾ Cup Quaker Oats
  • 1 Cup boiled water
  • ¼ Cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ Cup date molasses
  • ¼ Cup oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • ¾ Cup flour
  • ½ Cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ Teaspoon bicarbonate soda
  • ¼ Teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 Teaspoon salt
  • ¼ Cup chopped dates
  • 1 ½ Tablespoon crushed walnuts
  • For The Sauce

  • ½ Cup milk
  • ¼ Teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ Cup date molasse


    For The Dough

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees
  2. Grease a round 9-inch oven pan with butter
  3. Mix oats with boiling water in a bowl and leave aside for 20 minutes
  4. Beat brown sugar, molasses and oil in a bowl
  5. Add eggs one at the time as you continue beating
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and dry ingredients
  7. Add the flour mixture and oats alternating with milk into the egg mixture
  8. Lightly stir in the dates and walnuts
  9. Pour into the greased pan and let bake for about 25-30 minutes
  10. Cool and then flip onto a rack
  11. For the sauce

  12. Boil all the ingredients till thick
  13. To Serve: Sprinkle some powdered sugar and enjoy with the warm sauce.
