½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp Nigella seeds
1 egg
¼ cup of warm water
1 Tbsp olive oil

Nigella seeds or sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
1. For the dough: in a medium bowl add all the ingredients and mix the dough for 5 minutes or in medium speed (if you using a food processor) or until you get a nice nonstick soft dough (if the dough was sticky you may add 1-2 extra Tablespoon of flour), brush the dough lightly with oil and cover with plastic wrap then leave to rest in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
2. Heat frying oil into a medium skillet for 180C -360 F.
3. On a lightly oiled or floured surface roll out the dough until thin, then cut the dough into circles using a round 2-inch cutter, reroll the scraps and repeat until done (the rerolled pieces will not puff as the first batch).
4. Drop the tawa piece into the hot oil and quickly baste with the oil until puffed, deep fry on both sides until nice golden, repeat until done.
5. Drizzle or toss the Tawa while still hot with honey or dates molasses and garnish with nigella seeds.
